Due to fires in Indonesia, Singapore’s air pollution level has reached the highest indicator for 2026.
elchi reports that the newspaper “The Straits Times” disseminated this information.
According to the newspaper, the concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5 – particles with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or smaller) in the western part of the country reached 288 mcg/m³, which is the highest indicator for 2026. Air pollution indicators in the central districts were 218, in the south 177, and in the east 208 mcg/m³.
The publication emphasized that within the norm, PM2.5 indicators range from 0 to 55. Indicators from 56 to 150 indicate a high concentration of particles dangerous to human health, while indicators from 151 to 250 are considered high. Particle concentration above 251 mcg/m³ is considered extremely high (critical).
