Israel’s Transportation Minister Miri Regev has demanded the suspension of flights to Israel by the UAE’s “Flydubai” airline after a plane flying from Dubai to Tel Aviv triggered a hijacking alarm and subsequently landed in Saudi Arabia.
According to “N12” television channel, as reported by elchi.
The channel reported that a “sharp dispute” arose between Regev and representatives of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) during a meeting on security matters.
According to the “Ynet” portal, the Transportation Minister claims that “Flydubai” violated the aviation agreement between the UAE and Israel by assigning a pilot from Oman, a country with no diplomatic relations with Israel, to a flight to the Jewish state. In her opinion, “Flydubai” flights to Israel should be suspended until the investigation into the incident is completed. “This is a major incident, and we were very close to a great disaster, and it was prevented,” “Ynet” quotes a source in the Israeli Ministry of Transportation as saying.
