When the US military realized that it would achieve nothing by attacking Iran’s security centers during the war, it launched a missile attack on the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Basij in Tehran.
According to elchi, citing ISNA, this was stated by the commander of IRGC in Tehran, Brigadier General Hasan Hasanzadeh.
“When the enemy saw that it could not take any steps by attacking Tehran’s military and security centers, it subjected our Basij resistance zones and IRGC’s Tehran headquarters to missile strikes,” he emphasized.
According to the Brigadier General, despite this, security in Tehran was not compromised; on the contrary, the participation of Basij has expanded: “The number of public requests for checks has increased, and the number of posts and intelligence patrols at checkpoints has increased.”
