The EU has extended the mandate of its military training mission (EUMAM UA) for Ukraine until November 2028 and announced its intention to restore two training centers to accelerate the preparation of soldiers.
“Elchi” reports that EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas stated this at a press conference following the meeting of the bloc’s defense ministers.
“EU countries have agreed to begin the first phase of a strategic review of the operational experience of the military training mission for Ukraine and have extended its mandate for two years,” she said.
According to her, this also involves the creation of a “coordination center for studying combat experience in Ukraine and using it in the training of new soldiers” in Kyiv.
The head of European diplomacy noted that the EU intends to urgently restore two training centers in Ukraine to accelerate the preparation of new soldiers. Funding for this has been provided by Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, and Luxembourg.
