Due to Typhoon “Dujuan” moving towards the Pacific coast, two people have lost their lives in Japan. As a safety measure due to the storm, airlines canceled a total of 275 flights, resulting in the suspension of transport connections at Haneda Airport in the capital, Tokyo.
elchi reports that, according to the “Kyodo” news agency, the Japan Meteorological Agency stated that Typhoon “Dujuan” is moving towards the Pacific coast of the central and eastern parts of Japan.
Due to the heavy rain and risk of landslides caused by the typhoon, the highest level of warning has been issued for Izu Oshima, the largest of the Izu Islands located 100 kilometers south of Tokyo.
The typhoon coincided with a five-day holiday period in Japan, which caused disruptions in transport services in Tokyo and the cancellation of some events.
The typhoon is expected to pass through Chiba Prefecture, located east of Tokyo.
Two people have lost their lives
The typhoon brought heavy rains to Tokyo and caused landslides in Chiba and Kanagawa prefectures.
Officials reported that two people died as a result of the typhoon in Chiba and Kanagawa.
“All Nippon Airways” and “Japan Airlines” announced that more than 270 flights to and from Haneda Airport in Tokyo have been canceled; this decision affected approximately 40,000 passengers.
According to the “Nikkei” newspaper, a total of 1.9 million people have been evacuated in Tokyo and six surrounding prefectures.
