Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, referring to the United Nations’ “Restoring Trust” slogan, stated: “Trust is something that does not exist; just like the indifference shown towards human rights and many of the international frameworks they talk about.”
“Elchi” reports that, according to a written statement by the Iranian Presidential Administration, Pezeshkian spoke at the airport before departing for New York to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
Referring to the UN’s “Restoring Trust” slogan, Pezeshkian said: “Trust is something that does not exist; just like the indifference shown towards human rights and many of the international frameworks they talk about.”
Stating that he would use the UN podium to speak about the attacks against Iran and the “just cause” of the Iranian people, Pezeshkian noted that the “enemy” continues its attacks, especially against Palestine and Syria.
Pezeshkian also noted that the US refused to grant visas to the Iranian press team for fear of hearing reports about the “crimes” it has committed, but added that he would convey his country’s voice through the international press present there.
Emphasizing that the US and Israel have not been able to subdue Iran through war, Pezeshkian claimed that these countries are trying to achieve that goal through land and sea blockades, media channels, and by exploiting Iran’s weaknesses.
