Russian scientists have discovered two previously unknown species of goby fish off the coasts of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, as well as in the Volga Delta and the East Manych River.
“Elchi” reports that the press service of the Russian Science Foundation has released information regarding this discovery.
According to the report, these fish have been named “Caspian goby” and “Scythian goby”:
“Their discovery has significantly expanded scientists’ understanding of the species diversity and evolution of the Caspian fauna.”
