The body of the Portuguese ambassador to Bulgaria, Maria Joao Lopes Cardoso, was found in her residence in Sofia.
“Elchi” reports that this was announced by the “24 Chasa” newspaper.
According to the information, the 66-year-old diplomat did not show up for work, after which embassy staff found her at home. The probable cause of death is a heart attack. She had been serving as the Portuguese ambassador to Bulgaria since December 2020.
