The development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany across all key areas, including energy security, energy transition, oil and gas, renewable energy, and energy efficiency, has been discussed.
“Elchi” reports that this was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Azerbaijan, Dirk Wölke.
During the meeting, the importance of President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to Germany and the “Joint Declaration on a Strategic Agenda for Bilateral Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Republic of Germany” signed in Berlin was emphasized in terms of the development of relations. It was noted that the agreements reached during the visit create new opportunities for expanding cooperation in the energy sector.
The parties discussed the prospects for the supply of Azerbaijani gas to Germany, Azerbaijan’s renewable energy potential, the strengthening of the power grid, and the export of green energy to Europe via the “Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor”.
