EU diplomats may agree to remove Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov from the sanctions list, while extending restrictions against others for up to 36 months.
“Elchi” reports that the European publication “Politico” has informed about this, citing sources.
According to the information, this option is being considered as a compromise solution, but it has not yet been confirmed. It is noted that EU ambassadors held a meeting on September 21 in an attempt to reach an agreement. The deadline for them to make a decision is September 23.
Previously, “Politico” reported, citing diplomats, that Slovakia demanded the removal of Mikhail Fridman and Usmanov from the sanctions list, while France proposed removing only Usmanov.
