Due to the imposed sanctions, Iranian airlines will not be able to operate international flights starting from September 23.
“Elchi” reports that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated this.
“On September 23, all Iranian airlines will stop flights worldwide. Exactly how? If they attempt to land, they will be denied fuel and ground services, and ticket sales will become impossible. Otherwise, you risk being cut off from the dollar system,” he said on CNBC on Monday.
According to Bessent, the U.S. is closely monitoring which companies are cooperating with Iranian air carriers. On August 20, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of an economic campaign against Iran. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent clarified that Trump is actively engaging with world leaders to persuade them to cease all cooperation with Iran.
