The funeral ceremony of Major General Iskandar Imanverdi oglu Allahverdiyev, who was awarded the “Azerbaijan Flag” Order and had significant services in the formation and development of Azerbaijan’s border protection, has been held.
“Elchi” reports that the Press Center of the State Border Service released information regarding this.
The ceremony, held at the Military Memorial Cemetery, was attended by the deceased’s family members and relatives, the leadership of the State Border Service, the Ministry of Defense, and the State Security Service, as well as military personnel, veteran border guards, employees of state institutions, and representatives of the public.
During the ceremony, attention was drawn to Major General Iskandar Allahverdiyev’s services to Azerbaijani statehood, security, and border protection agencies, and his cherished memory was honored with respect.

Major General Iskandar Imanverdi oglu Allahverdiyev, who served for many years in responsible positions within the border protection and security agencies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has passed away.
“Elchi” reports that the Press Center of the State Border Service has issued an obituary regarding this.
The obituary states that Iskandar Imanverdi oglu Allahverdiyev was born on February 11, 1947, in Baku.
In 1991, when the State Border Protection Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established, he was appointed as its chairman, and in 1992, he was awarded the supreme military rank of Major General. In the subsequent period, he served as Deputy Minister of National Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chief of the Border Troops Department, and Commander of the Border Troops.
In later years, Iskandar Allahverdiyev served as Deputy Chief at the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, contributing his rich service experience to the training of young personnel.
His services to the state were highly valued, and he was awarded the “Azerbaijan Flag” Order, the “For Military Services” medal, as well as other medals and awards.
“The passing of Major General Iskandar Imanverdi oglu Allahverdiyev is a heavy loss for those who knew him, his fellow servicemen, and comrades-in-arms.
His cherished memory will always be remembered with respect.
