Armenia is ready to purchase gas from Azerbaijan, Iran, and other countries.
elchi reports that this was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Alen Simonyan.
According to him, Yerevan does not intend to replace dependence on one country with another state:
“We intend to purchase gas from everywhere possible. We are ready to purchase gas from Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran. If an opportunity arises to purchase gas from Turkey, we will buy it from there as well.”
In response to a question regarding Russian gas being cheaper, Alen Simonyan stated that price is not measured only in dollars and noted that gas is used as a political currency.
