All our cities and villages located in Karabakh and East Zangezur have been razed to the ground. Ethnic cleansing has been carried out against our people. Nearly one million Azerbaijanis were displaced from their native lands as a result of the ethnic cleansing policy of the Armenian state.
elchi reports that President Ilham Aliyev stated these views during a meeting with participants of international conferences in Baku.
Reminding that the major states supporting Armenia wanted not to solve the issue but to prolong it and make this occupation eternal, the head of our state emphasized: “These states were effectively rewarding the occupier by providing military, economic, and political support to Armenia. The Azerbaijani people put an end to this injustice and created a precedent in the world. Because, unfortunately, occupied lands were not liberated until now. In any case, such cases were not encountered in the 20th and 21st centuries, or they were encountered very rarely.”
