Ukraine’s Prosecutor General has left the country

The resigned Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Ruslan Kravchenko, confirmed on his Telegram channel that he has gone abroad.

“Elchi” reports that he noted he is on a foreign business trip. Within the framework of the visit, a number of meetings are planned for Kravchenko; during these meetings, he intends to inform international partners about the real situation in the anti-corruption agency system.

Prior to this, Kravchenko signed a decision regarding the notification of suspicion against the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), Semyon Krivonos. He also stated that he signed a second suspicion document related to a person close to the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP), Alexander Klimenko.

These events followed large-scale investigative measures initiated by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP). On September 4, they announced the conduct of Operation “Carthage” to expose a criminal organization “managed by an official of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine” involved in patronizing a network of fraudulent call centers and legalizing property.

However, Kravchenko himself had officially announced his resignation back on September 7. He called his departure from office a “political decision.”
