“They want to force Ukraine into a capitulatory peace” – Gudrat Hasanguliyev

Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Chairman of the Justice, Law, Democracy (AHD) Party and Member of Parliament, has issued a statement to the party’s press service.

“Elchi” presents the statement:

– Gudrat bey, another high-profile corruption case has been uncovered in Ukraine, followed by the Prosecutor General fleeing the country. In general, how would you characterize the events in Ukraine?

– Ukraine is waging a war to protect its territorial integrity and sovereignty, while simultaneously carrying out important work in the direction of building a state based on the rule of law. Building a democratic and legal state involves a great struggle and difficulties, and this struggle lasts for decades. There are nations that have become tired and discouraged in this struggle, surrendering to dictatorship and corruption. The Ukrainian people are still fighting. Unfortunately, values related to democracy, human rights, and freedoms are losing their worth even in Western countries, while corruption and authoritarianism are expanding. Recently, CNN released the results of polls conducted by Gallup in the US; 89% of the US population surveyed believe that corruption is widespread in the country’s government circles.

In Ukraine, the fact that prosecutor’s office employees organized “call centers” to seize the money of Ukrainian and European citizens through various fraud schemes has been exposed. Recently, Minister of Internal Affairs Vilayat Eyvazov spoke on the phone with his Ukrainian counterpart, and I am sure this issue was also discussed. If we played a role in exposing them, that is very good, and I believe we did. Because one of the countries that suffered the most from this fraud was our own country’s citizens.

Unfortunately, some political circles, led by the US, are using the corruption scandals in Ukraine as a means of pressure against Ukraine, wanting to force it into a capitulatory peace.
