The co-chairs of the State Commission have discussed the implementation status of joint projects carried out by Azerbaijan and Iran.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Cabinet of Ministers.
It was stated that, according to the information provided by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a telephone conversation took place between the co-chairs of the State Commission for Economic, Trade, and Humanitarian Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran – Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev and Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Farzaneh Sadegh.
During the telephone conversation, the implementation status of the issues reflected in the Memorandum of Understanding signed following the 17th meeting of the State Commission held in Baku in February of the current year was reviewed.
The parties noted successful cooperation in economic-trade, transport-transit, energy, water, and other fields, and discussed the implementation dynamics of the projects being carried out.
In particular, among the projects implemented in the transport sector, the completion of the construction of the Aghband–Kalala road bridge was noted as an important result. Also, necessary issues regarding the completion of work at the Astara cargo terminal were discussed.
