Security measures around schools are being strengthened ahead of the new academic year.
“Elchi” reports that the Main State Traffic Police Department (MSTPD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) have issued a joint statement regarding this matter.
It is noted in the statement that as the start of the new academic year approaches, measures are continuing to ensure road traffic safety on the capital’s streets and avenues, particularly in areas where educational institutions are located.
Considering that the intensity of vehicle and pedestrian traffic around schools will increase significantly with the start of the academic year, traffic police and AYNA officers are strengthening control over road conditions in the vicinity of educational institutions.
It was stated that the organization of road traffic in areas where schools are located is being carefully examined, existing road signs and markings are being reviewed, and appropriate steps are being taken to address any identified deficiencies.
“At the same time, special attention is being paid to the condition of pedestrian crossings, road signs, and other technical means in front of schools. The goal is to ensure the safety of students at a high level while they commute to and from school,” the statement noted.
