“Elchi” reports that as tensions between the US and Iran rise, a new claim regarding the US Army has emerged. It is alleged that US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll has resigned following a long-standing tension with US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.
Government officials speaking to The New York Times claimed that Driscoll submitted his resignation letter to US President Donald Trump.
An unnamed official stated that Driscoll met with Trump in person to submit his resignation letter and discuss the current state of the military.
Sources also claimed that Driscoll expressed his frustration to Trump over Hegseth firing many experienced military leaders and “blocking the promotion of a number of colonels who were working under the leadership of people he did not like.”
Sources speaking to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) claimed that there had been “months of tension” between Hegseth and Driscoll.
