On August 27-28, 2026, a judo championship was held among the structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the Press Service of the MES, nearly 50 employees representing 8 teams from the Ministry’s Apparatus and its structures participated in the championship held at the Sports and Health Club’s gym.
Winners were determined after two days of intense competition.
At the closing ceremony of the championship, the National Anthem was played first. Speaking afterwards, Deputy Head of the Sports and Health Club, Major Bahruz Aghayev, noted that it was a matter of pride to hold the judo competition among the Ministry’s structures and to see the determined participation of the employees. He congratulated the employees and teams who placed in the championship and wished them success in future competitions.
The competition, held in 7 weight categories according to international rules using the Olympic system, was officiated by head referee Arzu Akhundov.

Based on the point scores, the teams of the State Fire Protection Service, Civil Defense Troops, and Special Risky Rescue Service took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places respectively.
During the competition, the refereeing staff of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation and employees of the Medical Service were awarded honorary certificates for their professional activities and support provided.
Finally, trophies, diplomas, and medals were presented to the winners.
