In the last 24 hours, a decline has been observed in US stock markets, while major indices in European and Asian markets have increased.
elchi reports that in the US, the Dow Jones index fell by 113.52 points or 0.21% to 53,463.88 points, the S&P 500 declined by 1.58 points or 0.02% to 7,675.70 points, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped by 21.10 points or 0.08% to 26,130.20 points.
The NYSE Composite decreased by 26.58 points or 0.11% to 24,742.07 points, while Canada’s S&P/TSX Composite index fell by 143.98 points or 0.39% to 36,813.65 points.
In Europe, the Euro Stoxx 50 rose by 15.11 points or 0.23% to 6,470.74 points, Germany’s DAX index increased by 19.82 points or 0.08% to 26,285.96 points, and France’s CAC 40 index grew by 23.19 points or 0.27% to 8,462.39 points. Spain’s IBEX 35 index rose by 10.70 points or 0.05% to 20,067.30 points. The UK’s FTSE 100 index fell by 8.04 points or 0.07% to 10,878.12 points.
In the Asia-Pacific region, Japan’s Nikkei 225 index fell by 97.97 points or 0.15% to 66,164.19 points, while TOPIX rose by 3.68 points or 0.09% to 4,114.70 points. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index decreased by 122.16 points or 0.48% to 25,530.81 points. China’s CSI 300 index increased by 24.83 points or 0.54% to 4,615.63 points.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index fell by 77 points or 0.84% to 9,050.80 points. The MSCI AC Asia Pacific index rose by 1.61 points or 0.59% to 276.86 points.
It should be noted that inflation in the US for July was higher than expected. This has strengthened expectations that the Federal Reserve may keep interest rates at a high level. US indices have also slightly declined against this backdrop.
Investors were also monitoring the release of Nvidia’s quarterly results and the negotiations between Iran and Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
