The Main State Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has appealed to cyclists.
According to the information provided to “Elchi” by the department, the appeal states:
“The expansion of bicycle usage in our country is a positive trend. Along with this, it should be noted that cyclists, like other road users, must comply with established rules and take responsibility for their own safety and the safety of other road users.
Observations show that in some cases, traffic violations by cyclists lead to dangerous situations. Such incidents can result in injuries of varying degrees and even severe consequences for human life.

It is unacceptable to use a mobile phone while riding a bicycle, especially talking on the phone while taking your hands off the handlebars. Such behavior causes distraction and loss of control over the bicycle, increasing the risk of accidents.
When changing direction or turning at intersections, sudden maneuvers should be avoided, and other road users should be warned in advance about the intended maneuver in the appropriate manner.
In areas where special bicycle paths and lanes exist, those paths and lanes should be used; if such options are not available, one should ride along the right edge of the road in accordance with traffic regulations.
