Media and Broadcasting Council established.
According to the news from elchi, this is reflected in the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev on the application of the law “On amendments to the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘On Civil Service’ and ‘On Media'”.
The Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan is the legal successor of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and its rights, obligations, and property are transferred to the Council.
According to the decree, the staff limit of the Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan is 108 staff units.
The “Structure of the Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan” has been approved by the decree.
According to the decree, the public legal entity “Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan” has been liquidated, and its rights, obligations, and property have been transferred to the Media and Broadcasting Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Cabinet of Ministers must ensure the transfer of state property on the balance sheet of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the public legal entity “Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan” to the balance sheet of the Council within one month, resolve issues related to the financing of the Council’s activities within the funds provided for the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the public legal entity “Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan” in the state budget for the current year, and take measures to provide the Council with an administrative building. At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers must take measures to ensure that the Council’s staff is completed at the expense of the employees of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the public legal entity “Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
