UAV strikes gas tanker at Egyptian Mediterranean port

A US-owned gas storage tanker has been hit by a drone attack at Egypt’s Damietta port in the Mediterranean Sea.

“Elchi” reports, citing foreign media, that this was announced by the maritime security company “Ambrey”.

According to the company, the UAV struck the “Energos Winter” vessel, which subsequently caught fire. The flames then spread to the nearby gas carrier “Gaslog Salem”.

“Inchcape”, a port services company, also reported that a fire broke out on two gas carriers at the Damietta port.

According to sources, the crew has been evacuated, and the fire has been brought under control. There are no casualties. It is not yet known who is behind the attack.
