Another BSU building to be put into operation

Baku State University (BSU) is participating in the higher education institutions exhibition organized by the State Examination Center.

At the exhibition, the university provides detailed information to applicants about educational programs, admission opportunities, campus life, and innovations implemented at the university.

elchi reports that BSU Rector Elchin Babayev stated this in an interview with AzEdu.az.

The Rector noted that such events organized by the State Examination Center are of particular importance in terms of organizing the admission process more efficiently:

“Each higher education institution operates in accordance with its strategic development plan and carries out various presentations. However, the fact that universities come together in the same space to present their opportunities, achievements, and educational programs to applicants makes a significant contribution to their making the right choice and to the more effective organization of the admission process.

As Baku State University, we highly value such initiatives and regularly participate in both domestic and international education exhibitions.

Currently, information about the new opportunities created at our university is presented both at the exhibition venue and through electronic platforms. A special electronic information system has been launched to promptly answer applicants’ questions. Users who access the system via a QR code can get answers to their questions of interest in a short time.

In addition, Open Door Days are regularly organized at our university. Applicants come to the university to get acquainted with laboratories, museums, and campus infrastructure, and receive answers to their questions on the spot.

This year, Baku State University is introducing a number of new specializations formed in accordance with the requirements of the modern era. When updating educational programs, the requirements of the labor market, the expectations of employers, as well as development trends observed in the country, the region, and the world are taken into account.

The next academic year will also be significant in terms of the development of the university’s infrastructure. Reconstruction work is nearing completion in one of our large academic buildings that was closed for major repairs. Starting from the new academic year, students will study in a completely renovated building provided with modern educational infrastructure.
At the same time, reconstruction work continues at the Center of Excellence, which covers scientific research and innovation activities. New projects are being implemented on the campus to further enrich the social life of students. Within the framework of the green campus concept, work is underway to expand the use of alternative energy sources and create new spaces for recreation and communication.

New mechanisms are planned to be implemented to involve students more actively in scientific research activities. At the same time, the interest of foreign students in Baku State University is increasing year by year, and it is expected that numerous foreign students will study at our university in the next academic year.

No major changes are expected regarding tuition fees. No additional increase in tuition fees is planned at Baku State University this year. We believe that the main focus should be on ensuring quality education. The educational process requires mutual responsibility, and both educators and learners have important duties in this process.

In accordance with the University’s Strategic Development Plan, consistent work is being carried out to gradually optimize admission places at the bachelor’s level and expand admission opportunities at the master’s and doctoral levels. This approach serves to further strengthen the university’s scientific research potential.

For the 2026-2027 academic year, 5,105 plan places have been allocated for 76 specialties at the bachelor’s level at Baku State University, and 1,606 plan places for 232 specializations across 40 specialties at the master’s level. These figures reflect the breadth of the university’s educational opportunities and its strategic development policy aimed at training highly qualified specialists.

We are confident that all these innovations will make a significant contribution to the development of Baku State University, to students receiving higher quality education, and to further strengthening the international reputation of our university.”
