Age distribution of children adopted in 6 months

During the first 6 months of 2026, 77 children were adopted, 38 of whom were girls and 39 were boys.

This was reported to elchi by the Social Services Agency (SSA) in response to an inquiry.

It was stated that 21 of them are aged 0-1, 20 are aged 2-3, 17 are aged 4-6, 12 are aged 7-11, and 7 are aged 12-18.

The information provided by the Agency emphasized that no adoptions by foreign citizens were recorded during the mentioned period.

“Consistent measures are being implemented in our country to ensure that children deprived of parental care grow up in a family environment, as well as to protect their rights and increase their social welfare. Promoting the transition from institutional care to family-based care, taking into account the individual needs of children, and implementing sustainable social support mechanisms are among the priority directions.

Through the ‘Children deprived of parental care, foster family and adoption’ subsystem of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, work is being carried out to place children of the relevant category in institutions and to provide them for adoption and foster families. The goal is to ensure that every child grows up in a safe and healthy family environment,” the statement noted.
