The national cup for arm wrestling among U15, U18, U21, women, seniors, and masters was held at the “Sarhadchi” Sports Center with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the organization of the Azerbaijan Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
According to the information provided to elchi by the MES, more than 200 athletes from various cities and regions of the country, as well as clubs and sports societies, participated in the competition, testing their strength in right and left-arm wrestling across different weight categories.
Members of the MES men’s arm wrestling team participating in the tournament managed to achieve high results. Specifically, in the senior category in the +105kg weight class, Major Rashad Hajiyev, an employee of the Sumgayit Regional Center, won bronze medals for both right and left arms, and in the master category, he won a bronze medal for the right arm and a gold medal for the left arm. In addition, in the 105kg weight class in the senior category, Sergeant Royal Orujov, an employee of the Civil Defense Troops, won a bronze medal for the left arm; in the 86kg weight class in the senior category, Sergeant Sanan Shukurov, an employee of the State Fire Protection Service, won a bronze medal for the left arm; and in the 78kg weight class in the U21 category, Murad Balayev, a cadet of the MES Academy, won silver medals for both right and left arms.
Furthermore, on July 27, a shooting competition among employees of state agencies was held at the Baku Shooting Center, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation.
Members of the MES shooting team participating in the competition managed to achieve success. Among men, Major Tural Hasanli, an employee of the Sports-Health Club, and among women, Malakkhanim Mammadova, an employee of the Ministry’s Apparatus, won silver medals. Another member of the team, Aynur Mammadova, an employee of the Sports-Health Club, managed to win a bronze medal among women.
The winners were presented with diplomas and medals established by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
On July 28, Colonel Fuzuli Musayev, Head of the MES Sports-Health Club, met with the employees who showed high results in the shooting competition, congratulated them, and wished them success in future competitions.
