During an unscheduled inspection at a private residential house garage (used as a warehouse) located at Minutka Street, Chol Shuvalan settlement, Khazar district, Baku, beverage products with altered expiration dates were confiscated.
This was reported to “Elchi” by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AQTA).
It was stated that a total of 49,050 units of non-alcoholic beverage products, each 330 ml, under the “Vintage Lemonade” (2 varieties: sugary and sugar-free) and “Vintage Cola” (2 varieties: sugary and sugar-free) trademarks were discovered. It was determined that the expiration dates of some products had been altered, some had been erased, and others had expired.
During the inspection, equipment and tools suspected of being used to alter the dates on the products were also discovered and seized as material evidence. The integrity of the products and the discovered tools was ensured and they were sealed.
In their statement, the responsible person admitted to the fact of altering the expiration dates of the products. Additionally, it was determined that some required supporting documents were not provided during the inspection.
