The next meeting of the Accreditation Council has been held. At the meeting, in accordance with the “Schedule for the accreditation of higher education institutions in the 2024 and 2025 calendar years” of the Education Quality Assurance Agency, the results of the institutional accreditation conducted in 7 higher education institutions and program accreditation in 16 higher education institutions for the “Primary School Teaching” and “Preschool Education” specialties were discussed.
Information about this was provided to “Elchi” by the Ministry of Science and Education.
It was stated that, according to the decisions made, Nakhchivan State University, Baku Higher Oil School, Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, and Mingachevir State University were considered institutionally accredited for the next 5 years, while Sumgayit State University and Ganja State University were accredited for the next 3 years.
The final result of the institutional accreditation assessment for Baku Girls’ University was evaluated as “not compliant,” and a decision was made to take appropriate measures in accordance with the “Rules for accreditation of educational institutions” approved by the Decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 167 dated September 28, 2010.
Regarding program accreditation, for the “Primary School Teaching” specialty, 6 programs were accredited for 5 years and 3 programs for 3 years, while for 4 programs, it was decided to conduct re-accreditation after 2 years in order to eliminate deficiencies. The respective program of Baku Girls’ University was not considered accredited.
For the “Preschool Education” specialty, 10 programs were accredited for 5 years, and it was decided to conduct re-accreditation for 3 programs after 2 years. This program of Baku Girls’ University was also not considered accredited with a “not compliant” result.
It should be noted that after the decisions of the Accreditation Council, action plans will be prepared to ensure the implementation of recommendations and instructions determined for the accredited higher education institutions and educational programs, and these will be agreed upon with the Education Quality Assurance Agency.
The accreditation process serves to increase the quality of education in higher education institutions, ensure compliance with state educational standards, and support sustainable development in the higher education system.
