A defect has appeared on the tombstone of Azerbaijan’s National Hero, Major General Polad Hashimov.
elchi reports that this information was shared by the martyr’s mother, Samaya Hashimova, and his sister, Kamala Hashimova. They requested that the marble be replaced and that the portrait and inscriptions on the tombstone be updated to meet the highest quality standards.
The family members also stated that a house-museum for Polad Hashimov should be opened and emphasized the importance of erecting a monument in his memory.
Regarding the matter, the Baku Improvement Service informed “Qafqazinfo” that the area where the martyrs of the Patriotic War are buried, known as the Second Alley of Martyrs, is under the balance of the Ministry of Defense. After the work carried out by the Baku Improvement Service in the area was completed, the facility was handed over to the Ministry of Defense in the prescribed manner approximately a year ago: “Immediately after receiving the request from the Ministry of Defense today, the Baku Improvement Service took operational measures, and the craftsman who participated in the preparation of the tombstones was brought to the site. Currently, the mentioned defect has been resolved.
We would like to note that during the process of preparing the tombstones, all objections and suggestions of the martyrs’ families were carefully considered; portraits and other elements were prepared based on the families’ consent, and in some cases, changes were made twice at their request. After the work was fully completed, the tombstones were handed over to both the martyrs’ families and the Ministry of Defense without any defects. The Baku Improvement Service always treats the sacred memory of our martyrs with great sensitivity and takes necessary measures to resolve emerging issues in a short time by responding promptly to every incoming request.”
