SEC announces statistics for master’s degree entrance exams

This year, entrance exams for master’s programs at higher education institutions were held on February 15, May 17, and June 14.

We present the general statistical indicators regarding the exams and information comparing some indicators with the exams held last year. Please note that the current comparison is conditional and is provided to assist bachelors in choosing their specialization.

Participants were presented with a total of 95 test items, including 50 on logical thinking, 25 on informatics, and 20 on a foreign language. The writing skills of bachelors in a foreign language were tested through an essay. Participants had the opportunity to score 95 points on closed and codable open-ended tasks, and 5 points on the essay. The maximum possible score in the exam was 100.

A total of 27,859 bachelors participated in the exams held in 2026. Last year, the corresponding figure was 26,241. The number of participants was 1,618 more than last year.

The average score (mathematical expectation) of exam participants this year is 45.90. Last year, the corresponding figure was 48.26.

This year, the number of those who scored 90 or more points was 26, the number of those who scored 80 or more points was 244, and the number of those who scored 70 or more points was 1,263. Last year, the analogous figures were 32, 381, and 2,019, respectively.
