The State Examination Center has addressed those wishing to be admitted to the Journalism major.
In the appeal received by elchi from the organization, it was stated that starting this year, applicants will write their essays in electronic format on a computer.
It is noted that applicants who have taken the exam for the III specialty group (DT subgroup) and met the competition requirements (a total score of at least 200, and a score of at least 100 on the second stage of the exam) and wish to be admitted to the “Journalism” major must register by filling out a questionnaire on the SEC’s website between July 24 and July 27, 2026 (until 23:59):
“Applicants belonging to the category specified in point 3 of the ‘Application Submission’ section of the student admission announcement, who have not registered for other special aptitude exams, will participate in the aptitude exam for the ‘Journalism’ major at the expense of the state budget. All applicants belonging to the category specified in point 4 of the same section will also participate in the aptitude exam for the ‘Journalism’ major at the expense of the state budget.
Other applicants must add the required amount to their personal cabinet account to register.
Applicants will perform a writing task (essay) on the topic presented in the exam.
The aptitude exam for applicants wishing to be admitted to the ‘Journalism’ major will be held on August 4 via computer. Starting this year, applicants will write the essay in electronic format on a computer. Performing the writing task on a computer will allow applicants to present their thoughts in a readable and neat manner, edit the text easily if necessary, and thus make efficient use of the allotted time. This innovation will also allow for a more efficient organization of the evaluation process, eliminate difficulties related to reading handwriting, and enable evaluators to focus solely on the content of the work.
Additionally, we note that the exam duration has been increased by 30 minutes, and 3 hours will be given for the completion of the writing task.”
Applicants who successfully pass this stage can choose the “Journalism” major along with other majors during the specialty selection process.
