Events involving NATO aviation are being held at the “Krivolak” army training ground in North Macedonia as part of the Alliance member countries’ “Neptune Strike 26-03” exercises.
“Elchi” reports that the “MIA” agency provided this information, citing a statement from the country’s General Staff of the Armed Forces.
According to the military, two air controller teams consisting of military personnel from Great Britain and North Macedonia will carry out target designation for the aviation. The purpose of the exercises is to “integrate NATO’s multinational forces and strengthen command capabilities during operations in various domains, in accordance with the Alliance’s unified operational concept.”
Unlike traditional annual NATO exercises, “Neptune Strike” is conducted in several phases, each with its own operational focus. In the “Neptune Strike 26-03” exercises, taking place from July 17 to 23, the UK’s carrier strike group, led by the ship “HMS Prince of Wales,” is operating in conjunction with the Spanish expeditionary strike group led by the ship “Castilla.” They are supported by ships, submarines, and aviation from 12 other Alliance countries — Germany, Denmark, France (and other members: Greece, Iceland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, North Macedonia, USA, Croatia), as well as NATO’s intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance unit.
