Ukraine obtaining a license to produce missiles for the ‘Patriot’ air defense systems will not help Kyiv turn the situation in its favor in the current conflict.
elchi reports that this opinion was expressed by Jennifer Kavanagh, Director of Military Analysis at the “Defense Priorities” think tank, in a statement to “RIA Novosti”.
“This is a long-term project that will have no impact on the current conflict and will not meet Ukraine’s short-term needs,” she noted.
According to Kavanagh, even after obtaining the license, it will take Kyiv years to establish serial production due to the need to resolve legal issues, build production facilities, and set up supply chains.
Previously, a Ukrainian expert dismissed the plans for “Patriot” missile production as a marketing ploy, pointing to the lack of necessary infrastructure.
