President of Azerbaijan receives credentials of the new Ambassador of Ireland

On July 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ireland to our country, Claire Brosnan.

“Elchi” reports that the ambassador presented her credentials to the head of state.

President Ilham Aliyev held a conversation with the ambassador.

Noting the importance of expanding relations between our countries, the head of state touched upon the opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the political sphere, as well as in investments and other potential areas.

Stating that she felt honored to be in Baku, the ambassador noted that the beauty of our capital and the combination of historical traditions and modernity here created rich impressions on them, and emphasized that Azerbaijan is a beautiful country.

The ambassador once again congratulated the head of state on the achievements made regarding the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Claire Brosnan stated that Ireland is currently holding the presidency of the European Union and expressed her support for the development of relations between our country and this organization. She also mentioned that Ireland will host the next Summit of the “European Political Community”.

Recalling her participation in COP29, Claire Brosnan emphasized that Azerbaijan successfully hosted this event, it was organized at a high level, and good results were achieved at COP29.

For his part, the head of state noted that a number of initiatives were put forward by Azerbaijan regarding the global green agenda within the framework of COP29, and touched upon the work done in this direction in our country.

During the conversation, an exchange of views took place on issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ireland in the fields of education and high technologies.
