Amendments have been made to the Rules for state control over the implementation of children’s rights.
“Elchi” reports that President Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree in this regard.
According to the Decree, the Prosecutor’s Office:
– Protects the rights and legal interests of children in court in cases established by law, appeals to state institutions, and files lawsuits in court;
– Exercises control over the execution of laws in cases and in the manner established by law regarding criminal cases and administrative offense cases involving children;
– Reviews information from guardianship and custodianship authorities and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding cases where a child’s health or life is in immediate danger, and takes measures provided for by law.”.
