Hikmet Hajiyev met with representatives of Syria, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum

Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, met with Syrian Minister of Information Khalid Fawaz Zaarur and the Minister’s Deputy for Digital Media Affairs Mohammad Tafran on July 13 within the framework of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.

“Elchi” reports that the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Syria in all fields was noted with satisfaction during the meeting. It was particularly emphasized that the meetings between the leaders of the two countries and the visit of the Syrian President to Azerbaijan played an important role in the development of relations between our countries. Cooperation issues in the field of information and media were also discussed.

Hikmet Hajiyev thanked the Syrian Minister of Information for participating in the Shusha Global Media Forum. He said that next year Azerbaijan will assume the chairmanship of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and will host the organization’s Summit. The Assistant to the President also stated that a meeting of information ministers of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held in Azerbaijan in this context, and invited the Syrian minister to participate in that event.

During the conversation, issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Syria in the cultural, humanitarian, and educational fields were also touched upon, and the project supported by Azerbaijan for the repair and restoration of schools in Syria within the framework of ISESCO was highly appreciated. It was stated that this is an example of friendship between our countries.

At the meeting, the constant support provided by Azerbaijan to Syria’s political unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty was highly appreciated.

Hikmet Hajiyev met with First Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Iskakov, as well as Chief Expert of the Department of Information Activities for Television and Radio Channels of the Information Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan Nurlan Bertisov on July 13 within the framework of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.

It was emphasized at the meeting that the relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are of an allied nature. The parties discussed the development of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as issues of mutual activity in the field of information and media.

During the conversation, Hikmet Hajiyev stated the importance of strengthening coordination within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States regarding social media platforms, preparing joint information content, and organizing a joint fight against disinformation. An exchange of views also took place regarding the broadcasting of Azerbaijani television channels in Kazakhstan and Kazakh television channels in our country.

Kanat Iskakov and Nurlan Bertisov conveyed their congratulations on the successful organization of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum. They also highly appreciated the meeting held by President Ilham Aliyev with media representatives within the framework of the Forum, and noted with special satisfaction that the head of state answered numerous questions in a detailed and open manner.

At the same time, Hikmet Hajiyev met with Director of the Center for Content Production for Mass Media under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kobuljon Akhmedov, First Deputy Head of the Communications Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akramjon Fozilov, Head of Department of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dilshod Saidjanov, and Head of Department of the Center for Content Production for Mass Media under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tokhir Umarov on July 13 within the framework of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.

It was emphasized at the meeting that the relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are of a strategic partnership nature. In this regard, it was noted that the sincere and trust-based relations existing between the presidents of the two countries play an important role in the development of ties.

The parties expressed their satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the fields of information and media. It was stated that holding media forums, as well as forums of non-governmental organizations in both countries, contributes to the further expansion of mutual relations. The implementation of joint grant projects for non-governmental organizations of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was also emphasized with satisfaction.

Issues of preparing and exchanging joint media content, expanding cooperation between the media of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, as well as establishing direct contacts between bloggers were discussed at the meeting. In addition, the importance of implementing joint projects that will serve to promote our common history, culture, traditions, and moral values in the international arena was noted.

The delegation of Uzbekistan highly appreciated the importance of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum and conveyed their congratulations on the successful organization of the event. The guests noted with special satisfaction that President Ilham Aliyev established a direct dialogue with journalists within the framework of the Forum and answered the numerous questions of media representatives in an open manner. They also highly valued the important messages voiced by the head of state regarding the development of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan relations.
