The Ministry of Emergency Situations has appealed to citizens heading to beaches on the weekend.
elchi reports, citing the MES, that the appeal states:
“During hot summer days, one of the places where the public flocks for recreation, especially on weekends, is water basins. However, it should be noted with regret that despite the mass awareness-raising work carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the failure of some citizens to follow the relevant safety rules leads to tragic consequences.
Taking the above into account, the Ministry of Emergency Situations appeals to the public and once again reminds them of the importance of following safety rules regarding beaches. Thus, the following are prohibited:
– swimming in areas not intended for swimming, including canals, rivers, ditches, and other water basins;
– swimming beyond the marked boundaries of the swimming zone;
– entering the sea in windy weather;
– staying overnight on the beach;
– being on the beach while intoxicated;
– engaging in rough play in the water;
– entering the beach with boats and small vessels other than rescue equipment.
Remember:
– children should not be left unattended on the beach, and the instructions of warning signs and boards, as well as the calls and demands of lifeguards, must be strictly followed!
– it is dangerous to stay under the scorching sun for long periods and to enter the water after dark!
Do not forget, indifference to the rules is a threat to our lives!”
MES has recommended calling 112 in case of danger.
