The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it has targeted 85 American military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait with missiles and drones in response to the US violating the ceasefire.
elchi reports that, according to Iran Press TV, the military operation was carried out in response to US airstrikes on Iranian positions in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Revolutionary Guard announced that strikes were carried out on the Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait and the command centers and military infrastructure of the US 5th Fleet located in Bahrain.
The statement claimed that Washington’s recent actions clearly violated the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries and the terms of the ceasefire.
US drone shot down
The Revolutionary Guard Corps also claimed that it shot down a US MQ-9 “Reaper” drone in the skies over the Hormuz region of Bushehr province in southern Iran using air defense systems.
Iranian officials claimed the aircraft was targeted while conducting “airstrike” operations. There is no confirmation of this claim by US authorities yet.
