The number of earthquake victims in Venezuela has exceeded 3,500

The death toll from the devastating earthquake in Venezuela has reached 3,535.

“Elchi” reports that this information was announced by Jorge Rodríguez, President of the National Assembly (parliament) of the Bolivarian Republic, on his Telegram channel.

He also provided information on the steps taken regarding rescue and relief efforts:

“16,740 people were injured, 17,854 people were left homeless, 190 buildings were completely destroyed, and 856 buildings were severely damaged. During search and rescue operations, 6,462 people were saved, 25,016 people received treatment in hospitals and medical facilities, 86,794 families were provided with assistance, and 9,603 tons of food were delivered to the victims.”

It should be recalled that on the night of June 25, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake was recorded in northern Venezuela. The US Geological Survey later reported two more underground tremors with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, occurring 40 seconds apart.
