A strong earthquake has been recorded off the coast of the Greek island of Karpathos.
elchi reports that experts from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) have provided information regarding this event.
The tremors were recorded on July 2 at 14:06 local time. The magnitude of the earthquake reached 5.2, which seismologists consider a strong earthquake capable of causing moderate damage.
The epicenter of the natural phenomenon was located 21 kilometers southeast of the island of Karpathos and 121 kilometers east of the city of Heraklion on the island of Crete. The earthquake’s focus was recorded at a depth of 6 kilometers. No information regarding casualties or damage has been received.
