Currently, it is observed that some cars imported by individuals, which lack official warranty and service support, are being sold at prices even lower than last year.
“Elchi” reports that Eyyub Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Automobile Dealers Association (AADA), stated this in an interview with Baku.ws.
According to him, this situation indicates that individuals who invested in these vehicles are unable to sell them within the expected timeframe and at the desired price:
“Previously, imported cars were sold in a short time, sometimes within 10-15 days, but now in some cases, cars wait for buyers for months. This situation increases the risks for investors, and as a result, they are forced to offer the cars for sale at lower prices.
One of the main reasons is related to the fact that individuals who knew in advance that the concessions applied last year would end, especially individual entrepreneurs engaged in parallel imports, brought more cars into the country in the last quarter of 2025. Considering that the concessions would end, they imported a large volume of cars, registered them under the names of various individuals, and kept them in warehouses. A significant portion of those cars is still on sale today. As a result, the high import volume carried out at the end of last year has affected the current year’s import figures and has partially met the market demand in advance.”
The AADA Chairman added that there is no price increase for warranted cars sold by official importers:
“On the contrary, discounts are offered through various campaigns. Although activity is observed in the second-hand market, there is no noticeable dynamic.”
