The State Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations continues its awareness-raising activities in the field of nuclear and radiation safety within the scope of its authority.

It was stated that in this context, the Agency and the Ministry’s Baku Regional Center held a joint event.
The event was attended by representatives of the executive authorities of the districts covered by the Center, heads of enterprises and organizations operating with sources of ionizing radiation, as well as officials of the local structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Colonel Ilgar Safarov, First Deputy Head of the Baku Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, spoke about the importance of the meeting and discussed the necessity of effective cooperation between the relevant structures of the Ministry and the enterprises operating in the mentioned field.
Later, Khazar Amiraslanov, Deputy Head of the State Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, spoke about the work done and the tasks ahead, and provided information on the steps taken towards ensuring reliable radiation safety.
At the event, discussions were held on the foundations of legislation in the field of radiation safety, management in cases of radiological accidents, and the implementation of requirements related to the operation of radioactive materials and equipment with sources of ionizing radiation. Also, the event covered instructions on ensuring radiation safety and internal control, as well as issues related to the assessment of activities in this field.
Questions were answered and a broad discussion was held at the event.
