The operation of the express train, which runs in the Baku–Khirdalan–Sumgayit direction and reaches its destination in 45 minutes, was suspended some time ago. Although it was stated that the route would be put back into service after the completion of repair works, the movement of trains has not yet been restored.
So, when will this railway line, which passengers are eagerly awaiting, resume operations?
Regarding the issue, the press service of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) CJSC stated that the railway infrastructure in the Khirdalan–Sumgayit section is currently being inspected.
According to the organization, repair works on the rolling stock to be used for the new trips that will be put into operation in this direction are also continuing simultaneously.
“After all these works are completed, passenger transportation in the mentioned direction will be restored,” ADY emphasized.
However, the organization did not disclose the specific date when the route will be put back into service. Currently, no exact time has been set for the restoration. Once the infrastructure and rolling stock repairs carried out by ADY are finalized, the movement of trains on the Baku–Khirdalan–Sumgayit route will be provided again. (konkret.az)
