The State Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations continues its awareness-raising activities in the field of nuclear and radiation safety within the scope of its authority.
elchi reports, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations, that in this context, a joint event was held within the framework of the “Mutual Action Plan” signed between the Agency and the Sumgayit Regional Center.
The event was attended by representatives of the executive authorities of the districts covered by the Center, heads of enterprises and organizations operating in connection with ionizing radiation, as well as representatives of local structures of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Khazar Amiraslanov, Deputy Head of the Agency, provided information about the Agency’s activities, upcoming issues, and measures implemented jointly with regional centers.
At the event, which was attended by more than 30 representatives in total, the following topics were discussed: the regulatory body and the foundations of legislation in the field of radiation safety, conducting radioecological monitoring of the environment, requirements for carrying out activities related to the operation of radioactive materials and equipment with ionizing radiation sources, instructions for ensuring radiation safety, assessment of radiation safety, and issues of internal control over radiation safety.
During the event, Khanim Mammadova, Chief Advisor of the Legal Department of the Agency, Vafa Nadirova, Head of the Special Permits and State Registry Department, Elvin Muradov, Chief Advisor of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Expertise Department, Ilham Sadigov, Head of the Nuclear and Radiological Activities Control Department, and Baba Babayev, Head of the Environmental Radioecological Monitoring Department, delivered a total of 5 presentations.
At the end of the event, questions of interest to the participants were answered in detail.
