Successes of social reforms in Azerbaijan reported at the UN Forum

The opening ceremony of the UN Public Service Forum took place in Tbilisi, Georgia. The event is attended by 420 delegates from nearly 100 countries, including a delegation from the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

It was noted in the report that the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze, Minister of Justice Paata Salia, and UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Li Junhua spoke at the opening ceremony, emphasizing the importance of the Forum.

Within the framework of the event, during a panel session on “Integrated service delivery systems to leave no one behind,” Zeka Mirzayev, Chairman of the Board of the SSPF, delivered a report on accessible and people-centered public services. He provided information on the successes of reforms carried out in the field of social insurance and social security in Azerbaijan in recent years, as well as the innovative novelties applied in this area. The achievements in the digitalization and proactive provision of public social services in Azerbaijan, the ensuring of efficiency, transparency, and citizen satisfaction in the process of providing these services, as well as our country’s goals regarding the insurance-pension and social security system were highlighted. Other sessions of the Forum discussed the development of inclusive public administration through digital inclusivity and participatory governance, as well as transparency mechanisms to strengthen government accountability and public trust.

In addition, speeches were made on topics such as promoting equal participation for inclusive, innovative, and future-ready public institutions, managing digital transformation to develop this field, and digital public infrastructure for the provision of public services. An exchange of views took place regarding accessible and people-centered public services, the fight against disinformation, and other issues.
