Azerbaijan and Senegal representatives discussed the development of inter-parliamentary relations

Members of the Milli Majlis met with a delegation from the National Assembly of Senegal, who are visiting our country within the framework of the 20th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States.

This was reported to “Elchi” by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis.

During the meeting, MP Jeyhun Mammadov stated that Azerbaijan, as an active member of several international parliamentary organizations, attaches special importance to cooperation. Highlighting the importance of developing inter-parliamentary relations, he noted that the joint efforts and mutual contacts of parliamentarians can make a significant contribution to further strengthening friendly and cooperative relations between the countries.

Elhaci Ababakar Tambedu, a member of the National Assembly of Senegal and head of the delegation, highly appreciated the environment of stability and security observed in Azerbaijan. He emphasized the importance of expanding relations between the two countries not only in the parliamentary field but also in other directions. Elhaci Ababakar Tambedu stressed that the 20th Session of the PUIC Conference held in Baku was organized at a high level and that the issues discussed at the event were of great importance.

During the conversation, MPs Tanzila Rustamkhanli and Nigar Mammadova noted the importance of developing relations between Azerbaijan and African countries, as well as expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation.

At the meeting, an exchange of views took place regarding the existing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Senegal, the current state of inter-parliamentary relations, and future development prospects. It was stated that regular contacts on international parliamentary platforms contribute to the development of cooperation.

Other issues of mutual interest were also touched upon.
