In recent days, a significant decrease in egg prices has been recorded in the country’s markets.
“Elchi” reports, citing milliaz, that eggs, which were previously sold for 9-17 qepiks per piece, are currently being offered for 3-4 qepiks in some supermarkets. It is even reported that in some individual retail outlets, the price of eggs has been reduced to as low as 1 qepik.
Seasonal factors are cited as the main reason for the price drop. A decrease in egg consumption during the summer months, coupled with an increase in production, leads to a rise in supply in the market.
Furthermore, it is not excluded that the decrease in egg exports has also contributed to the decline in prices.
