A delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev, is on a working visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the information provided to elchi by the Ministry of Defense, within the framework of the visit, Colonel-General K. Valiyev held a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lieutenant-General Kanish Abubakirov.
The parties emphasized that the relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are based on the principles of historical friendship, brotherhood, and strategic partnership, and noted that joint exercises involving military personnel of the two countries make a significant contribution to improving the professional training of personnel, expanding the exchange of mutual experience, and further strengthening cooperation between our armies.
During the meeting, a broad exchange of views took place on the current state and future development prospects of military cooperation between our countries, regional security issues, as well as other matters of mutual interest.
The Kazakh side awarded Colonel-General K. Valiyev with the medal “For Contribution to the Development of Military Cooperation” for his significant contribution to the development of Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan military cooperation.
