A telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov.
According to elchi, the parties discussed the Islamabad memorandum, as well as some regional and bilateral issues during the conversation.
Araghchi provided details about the memorandum and stated that the US bears responsibility for the proper implementation of its provisions. The Iranian minister also emphasized the necessity of a complete cessation of attacks against Lebanon.
Lavrov, for his part, welcomed the finalization of the memorandum text and noted that Russia fully supports the implementation of its provisions.
The foreign ministers emphasized the importance of the international community and the UN Security Council supporting the implementation of the memorandum.
The parties also noted the necessity of continuing diplomatic cooperation aimed at strengthening peace and stability among the countries of the region.
